The Trophy Stall Port Mourant, Berbice sponsored Upper Corentyne Cricket Association Under-19 50-overs round robin tournament continued last Saturday with round 3 of the competition. No.73 Young Warriors, No. 72 Cut & Load and Radha Krishna Foundation Academy secured wins.
At No. 48 ground: No. 73 Young Warriors defeated No. 48 Challengers by 128 runs. No. 73 Young Warriors batted first and scored 343 for 8 off their allotted 50 overs. Sarwan Chaitnarine 66, Niradj Singh 56, Haresh Ramlochan 51, Trevon Sukhu 40 and Vettorie Latchman 40 were the main runs scorers for No. 73. Bowling for No. 48 Challengers S. Sookran took 4 for 48 and T. Dayaram 3 for 49. In reply No. 48 Challengers were bowled out for 215 runs off 26 overs. K. Hooper 65 and B. Downer 51 were the top scorers. Bowling for No. 73 Young Warriors, Sarwan Chaitnarine returned with the ball and took 6 for 38, Afseer Hussain 2 for 28 and Vettorie Latchman 2 for 26 give vital support with the ball.
At No. 66 ground: Radha Krishna Foundation Academy defeated No. 66 CC by 47 runs. Radha Krishna Foundation Academy batted first and were bowled out for 151 off 33 overs. M. Headley 65, Krishna Thomas 23 and I. Singh 15 were the top scorers. Bowling for No. 66 CC N. Satram took 2 for 37, N. Tahal 2 for 32 and Andrew Singh 2 for 10. In reply No. 66 CC were bowled out for 107 in 27 overs. Eric Sampat 27 and Karan Persaud 22 showed some fight with the bat. Bowling for Radha Krishna Foundation Academy O. Indall took 5 for 29 and M. Headley 2 for 30.
At No. 72 ground: No. 72 Cut and Load defeated Scottsburg United by 19 runs. No. 72 Cut and Load batted first and were bowled out for 157 in 21.1 overs. A. February 72, Z. Shaw 18 and M. Chaitnarine 17. Bowling for Scottsburg United G. Budram took 4 for 53, A. Naha 2 for 23 and S. Norah 2 for 34. In reply Scottsburg United were bowled out for 138 in 34.2 overs R. Gorden 50, B.Nandalall 19 and C. Budram 16. Bowling for No. 72 Cut and Load M. Chaitnarine took 4 for 16 and Y. Budhoo 3 for 13.
After three rounds of competition No. 72 Cut and Load are leading with 6 points followed by Scottsburg United and No. 73 Young Warriors both on 4 points, Radha Krishna Foundation Academy on 2 points and No. 48 Challengers on zero. Two points were allotted for a win.
