Hi Stars and Topp XX are winners of the annual Kayo’s and Tallo’s Academy Youth Fiesta Under-13 and Under-16 Youth Challenge Fiesta which came off on Saturday last at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
To reach the final of the Under-13 tournament Hi Stars won by a 1-0 score over Blueberry Hill, while Topp XX scored a 1-0 victory over last year’s winners Milerock.
In the final Hi Stars overcame Topp XX 1-0 with eventual Most Valuable Player Shamiah Samuels scoring the goal to give his team the win.
In the Under-16 championship, Topp XX gained a bye, but Milerock disposed of Rickland Hutson’s Leadership Academy by a 3-0 score-line.
In the final, Topp XX had to win by penalty kicks 4-1 after the scores at the end of open play was nil all. Topp XX’s Nick was named the Most Valuable Player among the Under 16 players.
The Rickland Hutson Leadership Academy’s Coach Rawle Huntley was named as Best Coach and they were the Most Disciplined Team on show.
Topp XX’s Alvin Andries received the Best Goalkeeper Award in the Under-16 category competition.
