Jamal Khashoggi’s 15-strong hit squad saunters through airport security in new CCTV
New CCTV images of the 15 men wanted in connected to journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder have been published by Turkish media.
After hours of trawling through footage, security sources say they have tracked the suspects’ movements
International news organisation Anadolu Agency reports to have obtained footage of the accused killers arriving and leaving an airport in Istanbul.
After watching 3,500 hours of CCTV from 147 cameras at 80 locations, the hit squad has been tracked at various points around the city.
The new pictures show the alleged killers strolling through an airport dressed in normal, bright-coloured clothing.
They appear to be carrying luggage in the form of backpacks and suitcases.
Istanbul’s chief prosecutor has said Khashoggi was suffocated by his killers in the consulate on October 2 before his body was dismembered and disposed of.
His remains have not been found.
Most of the men flew into Istanbul on two private jets hours before Khashoggi arrived at the consulate to collect some routine paperwork, and flew back to Riyadh later in the day on the same jets.
Turkish officials believe the men are Saudi officials and intelligence officers, an allegation that appears to be supported by open source information that is freely available.
Saudi authorities deny any involvement in Mr Khashoggi’s disappearance.
They insist he left the consulate soon after getting the paperwork.
One suspect can be seen being patted down by security
The suspects are: Salah Muhammed A Tubaigy, 47, Maher Abdulaziz M Mutreb, 47, Abdulaziz Mohammed M Alhawsawi, 31, Thaar Ghaleb T Alharbi, 39, Mohammed Saad H Alzahrani, 30, Khalid Aedh G Alotaibi, 30, Naif Hassan S Alarifi, 32, Mustafa Mohammed M Almadani, 57, Meshal Saad M Albostani, 31, Waleed Abdullah M Alsehri, 38, Mansour Othman M Abahussain, 46, Fahad Shabib A Albalawi, 33, Badr Lafi M Alotaibi, 45, Saif Saad Q Alqahtani, 45 and Turki Muserref M Alsehri, 36.
