President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) Steve Ninvalle has recognised the talent and efforts of two talented female boxers.
The young ladies happen to be sisters Abiola and Alesha Jackman, 14 and 16 years old respectively, who won gold medals at the recently concluded Caribbean Boxing Championship (CBC) which Guyana won on home turf at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Both young ladies exhibited excellent talent and stopped their opponents on their way to gold medals. Alesha had won gold at the Junior Schoolboys tournament and is a candidate for the Junior Sportswoman of the year award.
Ninvalle visited them at their Self help Square, West Ruimveldt residence and presented the young lasses with boxing gloves, jerseys and a financial donation as encouragement for their efforts. The GBA head noted that these girls are the pride of West Ruimveldt and of Guyana and he is confident that once they remain focused they will do themselves and Guyana proud in the sport.
