Cops in B’ Division are on the hunt for two men, wanted in connection with the murder of a 33-year-old Stanleytown, New Amsterdam man. One of the suspect’s is the brother-in-law of the
deceased, while the other is a friend who reportedly held on to the man so that the brother-in-law could stab him about his body.
The dead man has been identified as Security Guard Nkomo LaRose called “Komo” of 54 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam. His lifeless body was found slumped in a drain near an empty lot in the said village by a relative.
Reports are that LaRose, his wife and his brother-in-law were imbibing alcohol together at Lot 41 Stanleytown when an argument between the two men erupted and escalated, leading to the stabbing.
A relative of the suspect told Kaieteur News that there was an argument between his nephew (suspect), his niece (suspect’s sister) and her husband (Nkomo) while they were drinking, “she brother and the man was drinking rum, and according to what I was told, they had some confrontation about some girl he (suspect) does follow and me niece throw away the rum and she call the police. After the police come and talk to them and gone, they still continue to argue and she just pick up she self and she come way here and sleep. Around 5:30 this morning he come and jump over the fence and meet my mother at the back and he ask she where he sister deh and she said she ain’t know, but he tell she he come fuh “done she off”. Probably he de already stab the man up and then he come for she”.
A source close to the investigation told this publication that after LaRose was stabbed, he ran a short distance away and collapsed in the drain near the empty lot that was covered in vegetation.
According to another relative, there was always a tension brewing between the suspect and LaRose. He explained that the suspect was involved with a young woman, but LaRose would attempt to advise him that “the girl is not a good girl” but this would only anger the suspect and their talks would lead to arguments.
Police are investigating.
