Romario Shepherd and Gudakesh Motie shared seven wickets between them as the Leeward Islands Hurricanes were bowled out
for 182, batting first against the Guyana Jaguars at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua when the CWI Regional Franchise four-day tournament continued yesterday.
Shepherd grabbed 4-36 and Gudakesh Motie 3-23. Devon Thomas top scored for the Islanders with 58 which included eight fours while Montcin Hodge struck seven fours in an even half century. Keacy Carty was the only other batsman to reach double figures with 28.
Guyana Jaguars closed the opening day on 36-2 with Tagenarine Chanderpaul on 14 and Clinton Pestano yet to score. Opener Trevon Griffith was run out for 12 while skipper Leon Johnson was removed by Rahkeem Cornwall for six.
At Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Windward Islands Volcanoes took first strike and posted 206 all out. Kirk Edwards struck 55 while Taryck Gabriel made 30, Shane Shillingford 25 and Alick Athanaze 20. Imran Khan bagged 7-47 while Tion Webster took 2-44.
Trinidad and Tobago Red Force were 79-1 at stumps. Jeremy Solozano is unbeaten on 46 and Amir Gangoo on 19.
At Three Ws Oval, Barbados Pride were bowled out for 167 batting first. Jonathan Carter
stroked 51 while Aaron Jones made 28, Jomel Warrican 26 and Justin Graves 25. Nikita Miller captured 4-53 while Derval Green claimed 3-10 and Dennis Bulli 2-50.
Jamaica Scorpions closed on 102 without loss, trailing by 65 runs. John Campbell hammered nine fours and a six to remain unbeaten on 67 while Chadwick Walton is on 19.
