The Trophy Stall and Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) Under-19 Inter Club 50-Overs round-robin Tournament will bowl off today with three matches. The tournament is sponsored by the Trophy Stall soon to be opened Port Mourant Branch through its Owner, Ramesh Sunich.
The competing teams are No. 73 Warriors, No. 72 Cut and Load, No. 48 Cricket Club, No. 66 Cricket Club, Scottsburg United and No. 73 Mandir. The competition will be played on Saturdays.
In today’s matches, No. 73 Warriors will be home to No. 72 Cut and Load; No. 48 Cricket Club hosts No. 66 Cricket Club while Scottsburg and No. 73 Mandir will meet at the Scottsburg ground.
The Trophy Stall, headquartered at Bourda Market has been a consistent sponsor of sporting activities in Guyana and is one of the leading sports and trophy stores in the country. Through the dynamic leadership of its Owner, Mr. Ramesh Sunich, the company will soon be opening a branch at Port Mourant, Corentyne.
As such he saw it fit to sponsor a cricket tournament in recognition of the opening. Mr. Sunich is keen to give back to Berbice and is looking forward to working closely with the Berbice Community. (Samuel Whyte)
