Two teams from the Corentyne River areas of Orealla and Siparuta and another two from West Berbice will be on show tonight when play in the
second annual GT Beer, Candy Boss and Antics Promotion 8-A-Side Invitational Knockout Football Tournament continues this evening with two more matches. The games will be played at the All Saints Scott’s Church Ground, Princess Elizabeth and Vryheid Road, New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The first game will see Orealla Falcons taking on Hopetown Football Club of West Coast Berbice from 19:00 hrs. In the second encounter, Siparuta will come up against Monedderlust from 20:30hrs. Both games are expected to be exciting encounters as the two teams from the Corentyne River areas have travelled over 60 miles to take part in the games and will be looking to make full use of their travels.
The West Berbice teams on the other hand will be looking to make use of the familiar costal conditions in trying to keep their opponents at bay in an effort to advance to the next round. Some 32 team from across the country are participating in this year’s competition.
Matches are being played on Friday and Sundays with the final set for Sunday January 5th 2019.
