A fluent century by Abdul Ramsammy guided Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) to a 343-run victory against Malteenoes Sports Club, while Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) overcame Everest Cricket Club by 99 runs when the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Friends of Cricket U17 limited overs tournament continued on Saturday last.
At Muslim Youth Organisation ground, the home team batted first and piled up 437 all out in 49.1 overs. Abdul Ramsammy struck eight fours and eight sixes in a top score of 112, while Andrew Williams and Tomani Ceasar made 58 each, Zinul Ramsammy 49, K. Singh 48 and Romel Retimiah 40. Malteenoes SC were bowled out for 94 in 10 overs in reply. V. Persaud (12), B. Butch (12) and W. McPherson (10) were the only batsmen that made it into double figures as Isaiah Thorne bagged 6-27 while M. Boele had 2-4.
At GNIC, GCC batted first and rattled up 227 all out in 39 overs. Bryan Bowen struck 52 while Sameer Hussain made 48 and Dominic Roberts 29. Raynaldo Mohamed claimed 3-36 and Ariel Tilku 2-43. Everest CC were bowled out for 128 in 24.1 overs. Tilku made 32 while Varun Mangra got 21 and Mohamed 17. Mitra Dhanraj claimed 3-35.
