Following reports of shooting in the Charity Extension Scheme, Police on the Essequibo Coast on Friday, conducted a search on a
home in the community and a 9mm pistol was discovered.
Kaieteur News understands that some time about 01:10 hrs on Friday, reports surfaced of a shooting at a popular bar in the Charity Extension Scheme. A party of police from G division, acting on information, conducted a search on a home and found one 7.62 x 39 mm spent shell.
Two adult male adults and one female juvenile were arrested.
Acting on additional information, a party of police conducted a search on another house in the Charity Extension Scheme and found a 9mm pistol with a magazine and 10 live rounds.
One of the men who arrested and placed in custody claimed ownership of the weapon. In the meantime investigations continue.
