The final of the East Bank Football Association Senior knockout tournament today at the Diamond Community Center Ground is expected to be a keenly contested affair even though the talk is that Soesdyke will be no match for the Hi Tech boys.
Both teams have already qualified for the Guyana Football Federation – Stag sponsored Super-16 championship which would be launched tomorrow from 16:00hrs at the Green City Bar at the corner of Durban Street & Vlissengen Road, Georgetown.
Bothe sides have earned their respective spots due to playing unbeaten thus far but one will end on a high as the only unbeaten team whilst the other will finish with one blemish, that’s a loss.
The underdog will certainly be Soesdyke which put away their neighbor Timehri Panthers by a 1-0 margin in the lone semi final clash.
They would be led by Tyrone Khan, Colin Holder, Mark Barker, McKenzie Hope, Delon Smith, Alvin Adonis, Marvin Trapp, Amir Khan, Colin McLean and Roger Dey.
Grove, who have been destructive in their matches to date, will aim to rebound from their 0-1 loss to Camptown in the Turbo competition in the city and will fancy their chances of doing same.
Leading their charge would be Joel Dick, Tyrell Khan, Akeem James, Denzil Crawford, Marvin Squires, Nicholai Matthews, Tyrone Primo, Gregory Stephens, Kurwayne Lyte, Mario Eastman, Odel Broomes, and Usher Jones who will stand between the uprights.
Kick off time is 14:00hrs.
