It is that time of year again where turfites in the ancient county of Berbice will be anticipating the annual Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Christmas horserace meet which will see over $3million in cash prizes up for grabs.
Set for Boxing Day at Bush Lot Corentyne, the provisional programme has listed seven races for the meet with the C Class and lower event being the feature race with a total cash pot of $1.6 million dollars.
In the C Class and lower race which will be competed over a distance of one mile, the top finisher will ride away with $800,000, second $400,000, third $200,000 and fourth $98,000.
The H1 and Lower race along with the 3-year-old and over races will see attractive top purses of $250,000 and $240,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, the 2-years-old Guyana bred (maiden) which will be raced over a distance of five furlongs will see the winner galloping away with $200,000.
The other races and first place cash prizes are as follow, the L-open: $140,000, L-non winners: $120,000 and L-non earners $100,000.
