The preliminary rounds of the Enmore CCCC/Banks Beer 100 ball cricket tournament concluded last weekend at two venues on the East Coast of Demerara.
At Lusignan, Lusignan B defeated Buxton SC by six wickets. Buxton SC batted first and were bowled out for 87 in 11overs. A. Singh took 3 for 14 from three overs. Lusignan B replied with 88 for 4 from 15 overs with Brian Sattaur scoring 32.
Mahaica Cavaliers defeated Golden Achievers SC by six wickets. Golden Achievers SC batted first and scored 129 all out in 15.5 overs. Quincy Holder took 3 for 18 runs. Mahaica Cavaliers responded with 133 for 5 in 13.4 overs. P. Chowtie scored 57 not out.
At Enterprise, Golden Achievers SC defeated Unstoppable SC by 64 runs. Golden Achievers SC made 162 for 8 off their 100 balls, taking first strike. Unstoppable SC were sent packing for 98 in reply.
Enterprise A defeated Lusignan B by 55 runs. Enterprise A batted first and posted 132 for 8. B. Samaroo got 34; K. Persaud took 3 for 24. Lusignan B were restricted to 77 for 7 in reply. Kamesh Yadram took 2 for 8.
Meanwhile, the quarter-finals will be played on Sunday at Enmore and Lusignan grounds. Lusignan B will take on Betterhope CC at 9:30hrs, while host Lusignan A will face Better Hope CC at 13:00hrs.
Mahaica Cavaliers, who qualify by virtue of a superior net run rate over Golden Achievers SC and Lusignan East, will challenge Fairfield SC at 09:30 hours at Enmore, while host Enmore CCCC (A) will take on Strathavon SC at 13:30.
