Gold for Money chalked up 51 games to win the final of the Sunday in the Country four-game dominoes tournament which was contested on Sunday last at Roop’s shop, Unity, East Coast Demerara.
All Season’s Racing Service took the runner up spot with 45 games, while Mix Up finished third on 41. Linden Bowman and Shawn Morgan made nine each for the winners, while Raymond Ali and Dane Bynoe marked 12 and nine games respectively for All Season’s Racing Service. Mix Up leading players were Ewie Gordon and Gilbert Mendonca with 10 and nine games respectively.
All Season’s Racing Service won the semi final encounter with 48 games ahead of Gold for Money with 44 and C7 on 39 games. Ali and Bynoe scored 10 and nine games in that order for the victors, while Clarence Whitehead of Gold for Money made 10. Claire Benjamin and Brian Edwards of C7 got 11 and 10 games correspondingly.
Meanwhile, President of the Georgetown Dominoes Association Faye Joseph will be hosting an 18-team tournament on Sunday at her residence, Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt. The tournament will be played on a four-game six-sitting basis and entrance fee is $10,000. Double-six time is 14:00hrs and teams can contact Mark Wiltshire on 665-5855 for more information.
