Kindly permit me space in your newspaper to express gratitude to the New Amsterdam Hospital on providing outstanding services to patients.
I sincerely compliment the overall management, doctors, nurses and other staff of the hospital based on the period of time I spent at the institution as a patient. I must express that the treatment was above par.
The doctors, both local and those from the overseas mission during their one week period in November 2018, along with the nurses and theatre staff have provided excellent service. Every patient in the surgical ward was given equal attention by the team that worked to provide paramount healthcare.
I must point out that the local doctors visited the ward several times per day including evenings to communicate with each patient so as to ensure that their recovery was well underway. The overseas doctors, who were accompanied by the local doctors, also visited patients before and after surgery to discuss their individual health issues.
Kudos also to Mr. Alex Foster, the Focal Point Person for the Public Health Ministry in Region Six, who plays a great role in ensuring that the staff are committed to their duties, as he was noticeably checking on the operations of the wards.
Some people tend to be incoherent in that while I was leaving the hospital and having stopped at the outpatient clinic, an intolerable man was demanding immediate attention despite the fact that others were being attended to and were there before him.
All in all, I can safely say that the management of the hospital is well administrated and any mishap to a patient is beyond human control.
Keep up the good work and I urge all staff to co-operate for the continued betterment of healthcare at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
Congratulations to the Minister of Public Health and all others who are working assiduously to provide quality healthcare in Guyana.
Best regards.
Satisfied patient
