The Mixed Team Championships came to an end for the Guyanese players and Guyana is now ranked 32nd in the World with over 175 countries playing Badminton.
This is a very good achievement for us and we showed that we can stand up to the competition of the international players from around the world although our team is quite young a release from President of the Guyana Badminton Association Gokarn Ramdhani informed.
Countries that came in below Guyana were (33-40) New Zealand, Poland, Mongolia, Uganda, Australia, Macau China & Slovakia.
Outstanding performances came from Priyanna Ramdhani who won the Girls Singles against Krisha GHIA: 21-13, 21-13 of Kenya and Tyrese Jeffrey & Akili Haynes who won the Boys doubles against Urjan Omit Shah & Ujval Omit Shah of Kenya 21-19, 21-16 in the Mixed Team-Final Stage 25-32 4ths place playoffs.
Other outstanding Matches for the Guyanese players were:
Girls Singles: Priyanna Ramdhani Vs. Lee Xin Yi Megan of Singapore with the scores: 18-21 in the second Game, against Raphaela Winkler of Austria with the scores: 16-21, 13-21 and in both games against Megan De Beer of South Africa with the scores: 22-24, 14-21.
Boys Singles: Tyrese Jeffrey Vs. Kilian Meusburger of Austria with the scores 11-21 in the first game.
The Guyanese players will now focus on the Li Ning BWF Individual Championships which is scheduled to begin on Monday 12 of November.
