Imam Bacchus Sports Club of the Essequibo Coast recently returned from their trip to Suriname where they encountered mixed results.
In first game, Imam Bacchus defeated Amar Shakti Cricket Club by 36 runs. Winning the toss and batting, Imam Bacchus SC made 160 for 7 in 20 overs with Parmesh Parsotam scoring 41 (3×6,2×4), Nathan Persaud 34 (2×6,3×4) and Neiland Codogan 24 (2×6). Bowling for Amar Shakti, Ravi Persaud and Mahendra Boodram had two wickets each.
Amar Skakti could only reach 124 for 6 when their overs expired with Mahendra Boodram making 59, while extras contributed 30. Bowling for Imam Bacchus Latchman Rohit claimed 2 for 25 and Lallbachan Narine 2 for 30.
In the second game which was reduced to 15 overs due to rain. A selected Suriname team defeated Imam Bacchus by five wickets. Batting first, Imam Bacchus made 135 for 6 in 15 overs. Nathan Persaud struck 47 (2×6,5×4) and Latchman Rohit 46 (3×6,3×4). Ishwar Singh snared 3 for 26. Suriname Select XI replied with 136 for 5 in 14.5 overs. Imran Khan made 35 (7×4), Ramjohn Singh 33 (2×6,3×4) and Khemraj Lall 25 Not Out.(1×6,3×4). Ganesh Mangal took 2 for15 and Navendra Persaud 2 for 25.
