Dear Editor,
On Sunday 30th September, 2018, aresident from SeaforthCampbellville decided to blast his radio and music set at the same time.
He has been a noise nuisance for years not only with his equipment but he himself is very loud and would be singing, speaking and shouting from the top of his voice from time to time very early in the mornings or late at nights without a care that he is disturbing his neighbours.
Whenever, this happens this individual would lock up the whole house leaving only one window in the kitchen area open and it appears the radio is put there so that all the noise and discomfort could easily reach its targets;myself and relatives.
When the noise in Seaforthstreet started around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning I immediately called Kitty Police Station letting the rank know that I wasn’t well.
I was promised that a patrol would be sent; it never came. I made another call there about a hour later with the same result. I then called quick response, all this while letting the rank I was reporting to know that I was unwell and had a prescription to prove it.
The sickening droning and vibrating eventually forced me to get out of bed and in that hot morning sun I went on the road with pain and heaviness around my neck.
Before I left I made another call to the Kitty Police, letting the rank know what I was being forced to do in my sick state.
He told me he would send a patrol, Editor to my utter disgust and despair when I returned about three hours later nothing had changed the music was still being played very loud and in my opinion this deranged man was having a blast.
Long story short was that several more calls and complaints of the danger of my condition throughout the day was like throwing water on a duck’s back. I even requested to speak to a senior rank from quick response, hoping that something will be done, Editor absolutely nothing was done, this deranged man continued to harass his neighbours and later in the evening when the oldies programme was being aired on radio loud shouts of “OW BABY” and other sentiments could be heard from him.
Apart from the nuisances mentioned the Saturday abuse continues unabated and last Saturday saw a lengthening of the time that night before the music was turned off. Another nuisance with a big oversized box in his vehicle recently started visiting a friend who works in front of my residence, after cautioning and scolding him about the loudness of the music and requesting that he turn it down he is now acting up in defiance and has visited twice since he was spoken to; stayinglong enough to announce his presence but leaves before any police action is taken
Yours Respectfully,
Concerned Resident
