Dear Editor,
It is almost ironic that naturally rich countries like our Guyana struggle, more often than not fail, to achieve their God-given potential because of endemic internal divisiveness which is exacerbated by selfish ‘politicians’ rather than being promoted by respectable ‘statesmanship’.
The positive exploitation of Guyana’s rich natural resources, now headlined by the much-touted discoveries of oil, appears to be headed in the direction of the same unrealized potential of our gold, bauxite, timber, sugar and rice industries.
We are in a situation that cries out for tough, honest leadership.
It is time that we ask our potential ‘statesmen’ to stand-up and be counted in the interest of the collective generation of Guyanese who hanker for honest leadership to fill the obvious void in our body-politic!
Nowrang Persaud
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
