The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Jagdeo should be the last person to talk about the rarity of President Granger holding press conferences.
The weekly circus that Mr Jagdeo hosts can hardly be described as press conferences by any standard.
These weekly events where the Leader of the Opposition rambles on to the press can more accurately be described as an orchestrated lecture in fake news and this weekly circus ought to be called out for what it is. There are hardly any defined messages that the public can take away from these events and the questions often posed by our journalists lack focus, are hardly penetrating and as a result ineffective. Consequently Mr. Jagdeo is allowed to get away with his weekly circus of fake news.
Mr Jagdeo needs to understand that his weekly orchestrated circus acts are by no standard press conferences and be called out for what they are. The Leader of the Opposition needs someone to show him a few YouTube videos of what real press conferences are about in order to demonstrate credibility.
At best these weekly comic shows put on by Mr Jagdeo can best be described as an escalating study of fake news manufacturing.
Mr. Jagdeo and his press team ought to be informed that the nation deserves better from someone who holds the important seat of Leader of the Opposition and stop taking the Guyanese public for granted.
