Police Prosecutor Richard Harris is expected to call three remaining witnesses to testify in the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder of Godfrey Scipio known as “Sagga” who was shot dead on October 12, last.
This is in relation to the matter in which 26-year-old Aubrey Bobb is charged with the murder of Scipio.
Bobb was the first person to be charged with the murder. A month later, former Police Corporal Derwin Eastman and his colleague, Constable Jemison Williams, were charged for the same offence. This was after Bobb implicated them in the shooting.
It is alleged that Bobb, Eastman and Williams on October 12, last, at Kitty, Georgetown, murdered Scipio.
Eastman and Williams were later charged jointly with the murder of Scipio.
The PI into their matter is currently on hold since Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore is on her annual vacation leave. The matter is
expected to be called later this month in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Yesterday when Bobb matter was called before Magistrate Daly, Prosecutor Harris disclosed that the prosecution team is expected to call three remaining witnesses in the PI.
Police Constable Dale Sam took to the witness box, from where he detailed his role in the investigations. Sam told the court that he is presently stationed at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters. He told the court that he is a photographer, fingerprint technician and crime scene examiner.
At the conclusion of his evidence, the matter was adjourned until September 17.
According to reports, Bobb alleged that Eastman is the mastermind behind ‘Sagga’s’ murder since he allegedly provided the weapon.
It was reported that Scipio, 58, was shot dead shortly after leaving the aforementioned hotel. He was also relieved of a gold chain.
