Dear Editor, I almost choked on my dinner as I sat watching the news on Tuesday evening (News Room 4th September, 2019). I could not believe my ears that Hon. Jaipaul Sharma said he was willing to give up his post to a member of the PPP/C (he recommended Irfaan Ali) as a tangible effort to talk the talk on inclusive governance and offer something positive to the people of this nation. This is the first positive utterance that we have heard from a Guyanese politician in decades. This is what the AFC failed to do while in office – influence the politics of this country in a positive manner. I feel a special gratitude to all those people who voted for the Justice for All Party and ushered in a politician into office who truly deserves to be called Honourable and who has the courage to stand up for what he believes. One day, as one stands up and another and another follow likewise, we will see a snowball effect of all the goodness in this country.
Sincerely,
Hopeful.
