Dear Editor,
First was PPP. He was found guilty of corruption in 2015 and sentenced to death by Chief Justice Jimmy Carter SC OE.
This was followed by APNU who died from complications of obesity in 2016. She was advised by Dr. W. Brassington NICIL FRCP(UK), to cut her calories but ignored that advise and increased it by 50%. Not wise at all.
Now we have the AFC who wanted to live alone, against world renown Geriatrician, Dr. Granger’s advice. Unfortunately it had a catastrophic fall. She died on the 8th August while waiting for over eight hours to be seen at the world renowned, GPHC ( Giving Patients Horrendous Care). By request she wishes to be buried in one of Exxon’s oil wells.
Editor we have had quite a few deaths since our foster father in 1966 allowed us to play in our mud dam roads, barefooted and half naked.
PNC had a tragic death in 1992 after being infected with the rigging virus. This is a serious epidemic in Guyana afflicting all professionals who remained. How did King Krauss miss this?
WPA has been on life support since that tragic explosion in 1980. Effectively brain dead with no new ideas. I think we should get the next of kin, Dr. David Hinds in, where we can do the dignified thing, turn the life support machine off and let her have a peaceful death.
TUF died in 2002 while at her nadir. No pun intended. The rumour is that her husband left her for a younger PPP. She never got over that and was struck down on the East Bank Killing Field on her way to work by a speeding minibus.
I guess our only hope is this new young Amerindian bushman. I heard from one of his cave men that he will use a cassava as his party symbol. Frankly, we have had enough of the cup and the tree.
And keep that young Ramson miles away from our indigenous people. He may just spend one day in the bush and be masquerading as an expert on wild animals.
And Editor more curses befell us. It would appear that Clifford Krauss aka Jim Jones, has also cast a spell on paradise Guyana. Since he said that crime is a problem we appear to be experiencing lots of it.
First, five deadly bandits were killed by our five-star police. This was followed by two men who brutally murdered their wives. A lawyer’s clerk was next, sadistically murdered in the sanctuary of his own home.
A hotelier then joined in, shooting a man dead in his back in self defence. Really? Then two men shot at a couple of cops with the intention of murdering them. The police are getting into the act too. Shooting dead a young Brazilian in a robbery attempt and subsequently tried to burn the body.
We have lots of Brazilians here these days. Also Cubans, Venezuelan and Haitians. The land of ten races. Then a couple of white American missionaries were robbed at gun point of millions. They are lucky to be alive. Who said God is not white? Finally a Bourda market vendor was shot dead when he refused to give the bandit what was not theirs.
Before crossing Krauss put his mouth on us, we were able to sleep with our doors and windows open. Now we have to grill our windows, bar our doors, have ten vicious pit bulls at our gates, put chastity belts on our lady folks and arm each family member with AK47. Not good for our fledging tourism industry.
I pray that our Commissioner and Chief Magician, Ramnarine, can break this voodoo curse, sending Inspector Clifford to work in some remote area, hundreds of miles away from his family. Mr. Editor, thanks for indulging me. I would humbly request that my privacy is respected as I mourn for this tragic nation call Guyana.
Regards
Dr. Mark Devonish MBBS MSc MRCP(UK)
