Dear Editor,
I wish to advise of an error in Mr Freddie Kissoon’s article of Sunday July 29 in the Kaieteur News. In his article, Mr Kissoon stated that the University of Guyana (UG) moved to Turkeyen in 1972. This is incorrect.
The UG moved from QC to the Turkeyen campus and classes commenced for the first time there in September 1969.
I am proud to have been among the first batch of students who started University at UG in its first year at Turkeyen in 1969.
Sincerely
Beni N Balkaran MBBS, DM
