A man who stabbed his girlfriend Tiffany Macbeth and her mother, Maggie Macbeth, yesterday morning was captured later that day after he revisited the crime scene at Success Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara.
From reports received, Troy Sargeant woke up in the wee hours of yesterday morning and started to choke Tiffany Macbeth’s five-year-old niece. When his girlfriend intervened he started to beat and choke her, too. The commotion caused her mother to wake up and come over from the other room she was in.
A struggle to have the man stop his assault on Tiffany and the child led to Sargeant arming himself with a knife and stabbing Tiffany and her mother several times. The women however put up a fierce fight and caused the man to run out of the house. But they were badly wounded
When Sergeant left the women locked the door and called 911. Sadly, their calls for help was not heard since they claim the emergency services staff put down the phone on them. They only received help after calling a family member who is a police officer.
The women were taken to a Hospital where they were treated for multiple stab wounds.
