Regaining Mr. Guyana Kerwyn Clarke who is in pristine condition and was scheduled to represent his country at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship in Mexico on Sunday is now unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
The bodybuilder informed Kaieteur Sport yesterday that due to the illness of his mother and the loss of some valuable resources pertaining to his travel he has been forced to cancel the trip.
”Most regrettably I would like to inform my sponsors and other supporters that I am now unable to attend the championships this weekend due to unexpected emergencies prior to my departure,” he added.
Clarke informed that his mom took ill and had to be rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre before being taken to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital where she was admitted. He indicated that when he was about the leave the Diamond Health facility, he learnt that vagrants broke into his motor vehicle and stole a number of personal belongings and other valuables pertaining to the his travel, this he said was a big setback.
However, the determined athlete said all is not lost and he intends to participate at another championship shortly. “While I am currently in contest prep mode and a state of readiness to compete, there is another competition in Aruba from August 4-6 where I intend to participate and will not disappoint my sponsors and fans.”
