The 2018 King-Medas Pansy Adonis (KMPA) Classic road race, Guyana’s second Junior Olympic Games set for the 20th to the 23rd of September at the Lusignan Community Center ground on the East Coast Demerara (ECD) has been given the green light by the relevant authorities including the National Sports Commission (NSC), Ministry Of Education Allied Arts Division and the Amateur Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG).
With the official documents inviting schools from all 10 regions of Guyana being forwarded, the organisation is very grateful for the support it is receiving. At this year’s games, athletes will be in for a time of their lives while for some it will be the beginning of their careers.
The KMPA Foundation will also be adding the 13-16 years age group 4x100m and the 17-20 years 4x400m for both boys and girls to the already packed four-day programme.
The organisers would like to advise all coaches and teachers that registering online at www.meetregister.org has many benefits, including the fact that the competition can have heat sheets generated.
The KMPA Foundation would like to advise the out of town athletes that there would be accommodation and lunch available for them so the teachers/coaches must notify the organisation about the number of athletes from each region so as to better serve you.
The curtains will come down on the four-day event with the road race on the 23rd of September with the 1K beginning at Annandale Market Road. The 2K beginning around Vigilance, the 3K will begin at Strathspey while the 5K will start at Bachelor’s Adventure at 18:00hrs sharp.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
