As the Guyana Police Force (GPF) continues to celebrate its 179th Anniversary, the eagerly anticipated Volleyball Championship Finals will be hosted today from 13:00hrs, in the Mounted Branch Compound, Barrack Street, Eve Leary.
This will be followed by the Force’s Annual Swimming and Athletics Championship between this Sunday and next Friday, under the theme, “Fostering Unity and Partnership with the Police and Public through Sports”.
Events will kick-off with an Inter-Divisional Mixed Road Relay this Sunday commencing at 06:00hrs, from the Police Officers’ Mess to the University of Guyana Access Road and back. The Inter-Divisional Swimming Meet splashes off as well on Sunday from 10:00hrs at the National Aquatic Centre, Liliendaal, ECD.
The Finals of the Track and Field events will be held next Friday from 13:00hrs with the March Pass of Officials and Athletes drawn from the seven Divisions and other Caribbean countries, at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
Heats will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday commencing at 10:30hrs, daily.
