Last weekend, Kcaysha Medas-King came out victorious in the female 12 years and under 400m final of the USATF (governing track and field body in the United States) Track and Field Championships at the Brockfort, New York State University.
With the top athletes from across 25 states including the mighty California, Kcaysha ran a superb race from start to finish in a time of 1 minute .7 seconds, defending her title and also defeating the favourite Jada Kenner who would have won the 100m and 200m in distinctive fashion earlier in the day.
Kenner of Just Blaze track club finished in a time of 1 minute 10 second, while third place Abigail Charles crossed the line 1 minute 1.18 seconds.
With Jada Kenner having the fastest time going into the finals it was clear she was in a mood for a clean sweep. Just before the race Kcaysha stated that she owns the 400m and they might take the 100m and 200m from her due to her absence for a year but declared ownership of the 400m event.
With regions coming up in a few weeks and the Junior Olympic games in three weeks, Kcaysha Medas-King noted she will be going back to the drawing board and plan the way forward with her coach.
