The State Assets Recovery Agency (SARA), an autonomous agency, was created through the State Assets Recovery Act of 2017, and passed in Parliament on April 13, 2017. The Act mandated SARA to recover, through civil proceedings, State property unlawfully acquired by a public official or any other person.
SARA has embarked on launching this campaign “Corruption is Everybody’s Business” in collaboration with various Government Agencies in the fight against corrupt practices within our Nation.
They will be hosting a “Lash It Out” Cricket Match” on July 13 from 18:00 hrs to 22:30hrs at the Demerara Cricket Club ground. The aim of this initiative is to create awareness among young people, in relation to their involvement in the fight against corruption.
Details of the event will be disclosed on Friday at a press briefing in the conference room of the State Assets Recovery Agency, 56 Main and New Market Streets, Georgetown (opposite British High Commission).
The players will comprise local celebrities and members of the cricket fraternity such as British High Commissioner James Quinn, National Sports Director Christopher Jones, Attorney- at – Law Charles Ramson Jr, members of the Guyana Cricket Board team Leon Johnson and Paul Wintz, Entertainer Kerwin Bollers, Entertainer Rawle Ferguson, Former Carib Soca Monarch Jumo Primo, Caribbean Artist of the Year Saiku Andrews, Founder of Morgan’s Learning Center, Orin Morgan, HGP Nightly News Anchor Travis Chase and Sports Journalist Avinash Ramzam and many more players.
