DEAR EDITOR,
I read in the Kaieteur News, June 13, 2018, the headline “MovieTowne owner decries red tape in US$40M Turkeyen investment,’ describing the frustration of the Developers of MovieTowne, with the oblique support or sanction of my friends, the Leaders of Grants of Trade, Industry and Commerce.
I say to them the following:
– This sort of public campaign is not likely to be very helpful.
– Second, they must know that Post into 10th May, the Government is now led by a decent and upright person.
– Third, that some of the misappropriate messages used are not possible.
– Next, every system on earth including their own Trading Industry and Commerce can admittedly have tedious bureaucracies.
My advice is that they instead of going to the Media to lecture us on Guyana’s potential, which we are aware of, they should make a demarche to the appropriate political persons or Ministers.
The Coalition, indeed all Guyana, is aware of our great potential and no sane or intelligent group of Leaders as we have today would deliberately set out to throttle development in Guyana, especially so within the environment of the Capital City, Georgetown.
And my good friends, I respect must know that this Government is unlikely to make decisions at ‘Cocktail Parties’ or ‘Evening Excursions.’
