The three individuals in the accompanying photo are actually robbers who had just committed a crime and were making good their escape.
In what could be labeled as a coincidence for the person who was videoing at the time, the men ran past, in the path of the camera.
The person whom they robbed is one Avinash (only name given) who was on his way home from work, in the vicinity of the East Bank Demerara short drop car park at Stabroek Market, when he was pounced upon.
His assailants, who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties, viciously assaulted and relieved Avinash of his cell phone and $8,000 in Guyana currency.
Many of the bystanders could be heard lamenting how frequently such occurrences happen in the area.
One who seemed to know Avinash, gave him money to go home after hearing what had happened to him.
The individual also advised the victim not to bother with making a report, since there was little possibility of anything coming out of the matter.
