The horror continued in Abrams Creek, Lower Pomeroon, after the body of the missing six year old child was fished out of the Pomeroon River on Tuesday night last.
The child has been identified as six-year-old Ramesh Kanhai, former pupil of the Abrams Creek Primary School.
According to reports reaching this publication, the six-year-old went missing some time around 11:45 hrs last Tuesday while at school. Claims are that the child was last seen playing on the school landing with fellow pupils, when tragedy struck.
According to information reaching this publication, the six-year-old ventured to the edge of the landing to wash his feet, when he fell into the creek. The child’s body was discovered some 10 hours later by a security guard.
The Kanhai family on the other hand remains traumatized at this moment, especially the dead boy’s parents, Doodnauth and Revveka Kanhai.
The grandmother of the deceased strongly believed that the school should have placed more emphasis attending to children under their care.
“The teachers not taking any interest. They have small children they supposed to lock the school gate… The thing is, they ain’t got plenty children going at the school. It’s about 40 children in the whole school with about six teachers.”
