Rosignol and Latchmansingh Primary schools emerged victorious when the West Berbice zone of the Guyana Cricket Board/Scotiabank kiddy cricket competition continued recently. Rosignol overcame Latchmansingh in the junior final.
Batting first Latchmansingh managed 80 for 11 crickets with Justin Doobay scoring 22, Amed Parmanan 15. Bowling for Rosignol, Ezekiel Rogers bagged 5 for 10, Devon George 4-15 and Jenny Jaikaran 2 for 12. Rosignol in reply scored 82 for 1. Ezekiel Rogers struck 40 and S .Reina 29.
In the senior final Latchmansingh defeated Hopetown Primary. Latchmansingh took first strike and posted 127 for 11. Justin Doobay slammed 62, while Amed Parmanan contributed 22. Bowling for Hopetown Nyeo Semple captured 4 for 7, Brandon Isaacs 3 for 10, Dexroy Alfred 2-1 and Renata Liverpool 2 for 5. Hopetown in reply made 98 for 12 in14 overs. Brandon Isaacs led with 52 while Jevon Duncan got 25 and Nyeo Semple 24. Bowling for Latchmansingh Rohit Teakaran bagged 5 for 15, Amed Parmanan picked up 4 for 18 and Christal Lall 3 for 10; Latchmansingh won by 26 runs.
