Having been charged and freed for murder when he was just a teenager, the now 26-year-old Delon Henry, popularly known as ‘Nasty Man’, is expected to go on trial this morning for the September 2015 murder of footballer Dexter Griffith.
According to reports, Griffith was killed on September 29, 2015, at East Ruimveldt, Georgetown. The well known 36-year-old footballer was shot nine times about the body by two gunmen. He was subsequently found lying in a drain by his mother, Lavern Griffith.
Henry is to go on trial before Justice Sandil Kissoon and a 12-member mixed jury at the High Court in Georgetown.
Back in 2016, Henry was committed to stand trial for the murder of Griffith by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who, after a preliminary inquiry, ruled that there was sufficient evidence against Henry.
