The final game of the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) 2017 Bounty Farm XVs season ended in anticlimactic fashion after Guyana Defence Force (GDF) earned a walkover against Yamaha Caribs who didn’t had enough players to contest the match.
Heading into yesterday’s match at National Park Rugby field, GDF needed a win to solidify successfully defend their XVs title and Caribs who finished the season in last, showed no intent in bettering their disappointing position and gifted GDF 5 points in their must win game.
The final points standing read, GDF 36 points, Panthers 31, Police Falcons 14, Pepsi Hornets 11 and Yamaha Caribs 6.
The 2018 season begins today with Hornets versus Panthers at the National Park from 16:30hrs.
