Inter-school basketball action continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) on Saturday afternoon with four games in Youth Basketball Guyana’s (YBG) National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) Regional’s tournament. Three matches were played in the boys’ Under-14 division, while President’s College Royals won the lone boys’ Under-16 match after making light work of the Bishops’ High School (BHS) 57-30.

The Under-16 game, which was the feature match, saw PC Royals defeating BHS by 27 points. Akinyelle Derrell netted 19 points and snatched seven steals to lead his team to victory.
In the first Under-14 game, Chase Academy defeated BHS 15-4 to give the men in green their first of two losses of the afternoon. Omary Kewley netted eight points to emerge the best player in that match.
Reigning regional Under-14 champions, Marian Academy defeated YBG Cluster 27-7, while PC Royals outplayed St. Rose’s High School to win the final boys’ Under-14 match on Saturday, 36-17. Joel McPhoy swooshed 19 points and caught eight rebounds in President College’s win.
