Less than a month after a brutal pirate attack off Suriname that left four dead and 11 Guyanese missing, authorities in that neighbouring country are cracking down.
According to Surinamese police yesterday, in April 2018, the Department of Foreign Affairs, deported several nationalities.
The deported included 16 Brazilians, 18 Chinese, one Indonesian, two Dutch, one Haitian, one Bangladeshi, one Syrian, six Guyanese and two Frenchmen.
According to the police, many of the deported foreigners can return to Suriname after two months or within a year if their documents are in order.
However, two of the deportees are not allowed to enter the country before five years.
