The visiting Barbadian side, Maxwell Sports Club was completely outplayed when they ran into Everest Cricket Club Masters last Friday at the Everest ground.
The visitors won the toss in the feature 25-overs a side match and were kept at bay by steady Everest Masters bowling and fielding. The pitch played in typical fashion but the Barbadian batsmen were unable to get the ball away on the slow track. After the allotment of 25 overs, they were 60 for 7 with captain Glenfield Griffith (13) and low-order batsman Orville Riley (13 not out) were the only batsmen in double figures.
Everest Masters captain, Rajesh Singh was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 12 from five economical overs.
In reply, the hosts used just 10 of their overs to reach 65 for 3 to win by seven wickets with 15 overs to spare. Man of the Match, Robert Perreira carried his bat for the top score of 22 (4×4), while Ramesh Narine made 11 and Ucil Armstrong, who finished the game with a huge six that landed close to the seawall, finished on eight not out. Off-spinner, Terry Odle grabbed 2 for 13 in a losing cause for Maxwell Sports Club who was on a week-long tour of Guyana.
Trophies for the match were donated by Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall on South road, Bourda.
