struck a fine century as Sans Souci defeated Zeelandia by 26 runs when the Wakenaam Cricket Committee/Badri Prasad Memorial T20 tournament continued on Sunday last.
Venture clobbered seven fours and 12 maximums in a robust unbeaten 122 as Sans Souci posted 249-6, batting first at Zeelandia.
Heera Sukram supported with 45 including six fours and two sixes as Mahendra Jadookul claimed 2-35. Zeelandia threatened but were restricted for 223-5 in reply. Navishaul Pooran stroked 81 and Jaspaul Gangaram 67; Devon Rambarran snared 2-35.
At the Wakenaam Community Centre ground in Good Success, Good Success Sports Club defeated G Square Cavaliers by 30 runs. Batting first, Good Success SC managed 136-9. Tulsieram Ramadeen made 31, while Mahase Ramnarine got 24 and Nazeer Mohamed 18 off six balls. Satnarine Sahadeo picked up 3-27, Jaggernauth Manbodh 2-24 and Tulsie Sahadeo 2-34.
G Square Cavaliers responded with 106-8. Romario Stephen made 21 and Bhumeshwar Ramkissoon 16. Wazir Khan had 2-11, Gurnauth Khemraj 2-18 and Vickram Ramnarine 2-26.
Maria’s Pleasure beat Noitgedacht SC by five wickets at the said venue. Noitgedacht SC were bowled out for 71 in 17.4 overs, taking first strike. Matthew Cheong made 29 as Vinood Sanichara captured 3-6, Leorayan Ramlakhan 3-12 and Bernard Lewis 2-6.
Maria’s Pleasure scored 73-5 in nine overs in reply. Ramlakhan led with 31 as Neil Ramalho took 2-30. The competition continues on Sunday.
