Ryan Shun struck fine century as Wales defeated Belle Vue by 39 runs when the West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) President’s Cup 50-over tournament continued recently.
At Belle Vue, Wales took first strike and posted 234 all out in 33 overs. Shun slammed 109 which contained nine fours and a similar number of sixes, while Roger Henry made 30. Krishna Singh had 3-11 and Safraz Baksh 2-41.
Belle Vue responded with 195 all out in 39 overs. Michael Persaud made 40 and Dyal Rajpot 39. Ershaad Ali claimed 3-47 and Chandrika Persaud 3-22.
At Joe Vieira Park, Independence B rattled up 328-9, bating first. Romel Lakah struck 101, John Paton 58 and Ramesh Persaud 36. Navindra Persaud captured 4-46 and Abid Haniff 3-62. All Youths were skittled for 54 in 15 overs in response. Anil Ramgewan made 14 and Aaron Seepersaud grabbed 6-13.
At Canal Number Two, the host defeated Saw Pit, Rising Star beat La Grange at Joe Vieira Park and All Youths overcame Sports Club at Canal Number Two on Sunday.
In the WDCA U19 50-over tournament which was played on Saturday, At Belle Vue, Meten-Meer-Zorg batted first and managed 156 all out in 43 overs. Deryck Foo and Dinesh George made 34 each as Satesh Bisram snared 3-35, Navendra Persaud 2-22 and Dev Seepersaud 2-25. Belle Vue were bowled out for 54 in 24 overs in reply. Persaud made 18 as Kevin Latchoo bagged 5-14 and Foo 3-6.
At Joe Vieira Park, Mc Gill beat Independence SC and at Zeelugt Cold Fusion overcame All Youths.
