“The Management of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, MS wants each of you to know that we are very proud of your achievements and that we would be rooting for you every day. Please be assured that the Club would continue to invest in your cricket development as we strongly believe that this is just the first step to greatness on the Cricket field.” Those were the words of Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster as he congratulated seven Club Members on their selection on the Guyana Under-15 Male and Guyana Under-19 Female Teams.
The Members selected are: Jonathan Rampersaud, Mahendra Gopilall, Jeremy Sandian, Shabeks Gajnabi, Rushanna Lynch, Uma Matadeen and Shaneeta Grimmond.
Rampersaud, who was recently named MVP of the Guyana Cricket Board Under-15 Inter-county Tournament, was named Vice captain of the team, while Gajnabi for the second successive year would lead the Under-19 Female team.
The long serving Secretary/CEO informed the youths, that as representatives of Guyana’s leading youth and sports club, they have the responsibilities of representing the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club brand. He reminded the youths that they must remember at all times that the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club formula of success is a simple one “sheer hard work, faith in the God they serve, honesty, dedication and sacrifice. He also committed himself and the Management of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club to working along with each of the seven awardees to make sure that they fulfill their full potentials on and off the cricket field. The seven players would be honoured by the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club, Ms on the 29th April, 2018, during the Club’s 28th Annual Award Ceremony.
Since its formation in 1990, the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club has produced a total of 54 National Junior Cricketers and 105 for Berbice at all levels and Foster urged the seven players to follow in the footsteps of players like Assad Fudadin, Shemaine Campbelle, Royston Crandon, Esuan Crandon, Neil Williams, Shawn Grant and Dominique Rikhi. The seven players are also products of the Club’s highly successful Youth Development Programme which is headed by Cricket Managers Ravindranauth Kissoonlall and Keith Hicks.
The Management of the Club would also like to extend gratitude to the official cricket sponsors of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club for their investment into the careers of the players. The sponsors: King Solomon Logistics, Poonai Pharmacy, Farfan & Mendes Ltd, Bakewell, Pepsi, Metro Office Supplies, Gizmos & Gadgets are directly responsible for the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club remarkable success on the cricket field and have played major roles in the development of the seven players.
