In the Men’s Singles Mr. Ramirez-Merlano came out victorious without losing a single leg in this category. He started off in the first round with a BYE where he met up with Mr. A. Damon, defeating him 3/0 and moving on to play Mr. Anil Lachman in the Semi-Final and again defeating him 3/0. He then went on to play National Champion Mr. Sudesh Fitzgerald who defeated S. Greene in his Semi-Finals.
Mr. Ramirez-Merlano managed to defeat Mr. Fitzgerald 4/0, without losing a single leg to him. However, Mr. Fitzgerald managed to take home the most 180’s and shortest game incentives; scoring one 180 and a 17 darts finish.
And finally in the Luck of the Draw Doubles category, Mr. Ramirez-Merlano and Mr. S. Fenty teamed up and defeated Mr. J. Holligan and N. De Caries (newest member) in the finals 2/0.
Mr. Ramirez-Merlano mentioned that it was a great night of Darts. However, he was disappointed that the youth tournament was not played due to poor participation. Nevertheless, this is a category he will continue to place high emphasis on to encourage participation of youths. He congratulated all the winners and thanked everyone who made a special effort to come out and make the tournament successful.
