The Corona Futsal tournament continued on Saturday night at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue with four round-of-16 clashes in an event that will pay out over a $2million in cash and prizes. In addition to Corona and Hairoun beer specials, the scores of fans at the event enjoyed dominant performances by the eventual winning teams.

Tiger Bay’s James Meredith squandered a good opportunity that would’ve seen Xtreme Cambellville lose by a bigger margin.
Tiger Bay, West Front Road and Leopold Street each scored eight goals, while Sparta Boss netted five to round off the winners’ row on Saturday night, clinching the remaining four quarterfinal spots.
Deon Alfred scored four goals for Tiger Bay to be Xtreme Campbellville’s main tormentor during his team’s 8-1 win in the night’s opening fixture.
West Front Road were not to be left out of the action and the hungry for action crowd were satisfied once again as Alexander Village were beaten 8-2. Jamal Pedro netted a hat-trick, while Randolph Wagner scored a brace to lead Front Road in the amazing win.
Leopold Street ended the run of West Demerara based Show Stoppers during an 8-4, 12-goal frenzy. Eon Alleyne was in devastating form, netting five times in the 1st, 6th, 12th, 13th and 18th minutes. Showstoppers’ duo Dexroy Adams and Trayon Bob both scored braces but their efforts weren’t enough for the win.
Crowd favourite Sparta Boss brushed Albouystown aside with a confident 5-1 win. Scoring for them were Quincy Adams, Gregory Richardson, Courtney Britton, Sheldon Shepherd and Keyon Richards.
Moses Gittens netted the lone goal for the losers Albouystown.
