A sex worker who allegedly robbed an elderly Jamaican Tourist was yesterday charged for the offence and released on $75,000 bail.
Twenty-two-year-old Stephon Blades also known as ‘Stephanie’ appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
The allegation against Blades is that on March 7, at King Street, Georgetown, he robbed Joseph Jewels of US$600 and $40,000 Guyana currency.
The prosecutor had no objection to bail being granted to the defendant but asked that it be in a substantial amount.
According to information, on the day in question, the victim and Blades had a business transaction during which Jewels was robbed.
The defendant was released on $75,000 bail and he was instructed to make his next court appearance on March 28.
