Action in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League will be held at the Georgetown Football Club Ground, Bourda today and Sunday due to the unplayable conditions of the Tucville venue.
Today, City club Western Tigers will open against Cougars of Berbice at 18:00hrs while Fruta Conquerors is down to match skills with West Demerara’s Den Amstel from 20:00hrs. on Sunday, Upper Demerara’s Milerock go up against New Amsterdam United in the curtain raiser 17:30hrs with the main event between the GDF and Victoria Kings FC from 19:30hrs.
Western Tigers will be hoping for a positive result to gain the valuable points over Cougars which will take them to the top of the table. Conquerors on the other hand, will have their work cut out against the red hot Den Amstel which has given a reasonably good account of themselves as newcomers to the league.
A win for the West Dem boys would also take them to the top of the table but with one match more than the other leading contenders. In Sunday’s opener, the lads from the East, NA United will be looking to get on to the points table in order to break their drought thus far.
GDF, the reigning GFF Elite LEageu champions will also be looking forward to tough matches prior their departure for the Caribbean Shield and will be looking forward to Sunday’s shindig with East Demerara’s, Victoria Kings, the current point leaders.
Admission to all matches is $500 but all women and children Under-12 will be admitted free of charge.
