Christmas start fuh some people since September. Dem businessman begin Christmas sale since then. Christmas parties start December 15. Dem boys use to get a lot of invitation but this year up to now dem only get two and is only four days lef fuh Christmas.
De first invitation wha dem get seh ‘Please walk with your own drinks and snacks.” Dat invitation came from de Office of de Prime Minister. It also seh “Dress elegantly casual”.
When dem boys find out what it mean, Moses point man tell dem boys dat people must wear a clean shirt and a clean pants. It didn’t seh anything bout underwear. Dem boys interpret dat to mean no underwear allowed.
Moses been around lang enough to know why he put dat dress code. He know people like labba lip Kwame use to tun up at dem parties wid batty-riders.
De second invitation come from de army. Things was good fuh dem this year. Curly tell dem boys dat Customs seize a lot of likker and nuff chicken.
De army invitation got a different wording. Come, eat, drink and be merry; thanks to Curly. Dem boys suspect dat de likker will flow like water and de chicken gun come in all forms.
Dem boys want fuh know wha happen wid dem odda places. Dem want fuh know if things bad or dem spiting we.
In Jagdeo time was party galore, but dem boys never go, because dem frighten poison. Now dem boys ain’t frighten poison, but de invitation not coming.
Starting today, dem boys have party every day at de Waterfalls paper. There will be lots to eat and drink. Don’t come early and everybody invited except de kavakamites. Suh if you know you is not one of de 40 thieves who walk wid Ali Baba, you can come.
Talk half and please don’t come wid batty-riders!
