The Selection Committee of the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has shortlisted respective Men and Women squads that will be further trimmed to represent Guyana at the upcoming RAN 7s Championships and 2018 Qualifier events in Mexico City, November 25 – 26, next.
The final 12-members teams will be decided this Friday and will depart these shores next Monday and Tuesday, respectively pending the release of funds from the Government of Guyana, The GFRU disclosed.
Guyana is the top ranked defending men champions with the women ranked at No. 4 behind Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico and Jamaica.
Men’s Squad – Dwayne Schroeder (Captain), Avery Corbin, Patrick King, Richard Staglon, Ronald Mayers, Dominic Lespierre, Claudius Butts, Lance Adonis, Rondell Mc Arthur, Jamal Angus, Rickford Cummings, Peabo Hamilton, Ryan Gonsalves, Godfrey Broomes, Vallon Adams.
Officials – John Lewis (Manager), Laurence Adonis (Coach), Phillip Browne (Physio), Angus Thompson (Analyst/Assistant Coach-Australia based).
Women’s Squad – Collette Hope (Captain), Latoya Cordis, Alisha Mentore, Cleotta Dublin, Helen Jervis, Sabola Gray, Cindy Fraser, Tricia Munroe, Sasha James, Shonette Mc Farlane, Abioce Heywood, Natasha Andrews, M. Browne, Kean Andrews, Mandy Browne.
