Mahase Ramnarine struck fine half century, while off-spinner Bumeshwar Ramkissoon grabbed
five wickets as Wakenaam defeated New Opportunity Corps Select XI by 37 runs in the second game of the Trophy Stall three-match U-19 50-over tournament which was contested on Saturday last.
Ramnarine struck seven fours and three sixes in a top score of 57 and got support from Beesham Moses 18 and Romario Steven 10 as Wakenaam U-19 posted 121 all out in 26 overs batting first at NOC ground, Essequibo Coast. Medium pacer Zarood Allicock grabbed 5-20, while Saeed Hack had 2-20. NOC Select U-19 XI were bowled out for 84 in 35 overs in reply. Hack made 14, Shane Wong 12 and Orlando Jailall 10. Ramkissoon bowled with control and variation to capture 5-14 from six overs, while Beesham Moses claimed 2-12.
The competition will conclude on Saturday at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground.
