Play continues on Monday in the ongoing Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) Inter Secondary School Volleyball Competition with matches in the Central Corentyne Zone at the Bush Lot Secondary Court.
Three schools namely Central Corentyne Secondary (CCSS), Manchester Secondary (MSS) and Black Bush Secondary (BBPS) participated in the male segment.
While in the female segment, Central Corentyne and Manchester Secondary participated.
The day’s action began with MSS taking on BBPS in a keenly contested affair which saw the BBPS lads holding off their opponents to prevail 30-27. The second game of the day saw CCSS steamrolling the hapless MSS unit for a runaway 30-7 win.
In the final encounter there was no stopping the CCSS teams as they continued where they left off. In the best of three encounter, CCSS was all over their opponents to win 2-0, the scores being 25-7, 25-8.
The captain of the victorious CCSS, Ryan Ragnauth, expressed his desire for his team to go all the way in this tournament and making his School proud.
In the female category it was all Central Corentyne as they pounded Manchester Secondary 30-16 for the easy win.
During the day’s activity, Coordinator and President of the BVA Mr. Levi Nedd spoke to the players and briefed them about the benefits of playing the game. He also distributed volleyballs to each of the schools present.
The two top schools from each zone will advance to the quarter, semi and final which are scheduled for tomorrow at Port Mourant.
